Julia Hartmeyer is a Berlin-based architect and set designer working at the intersection of architecture, scenography and artistic production. Her practice is focusing on material theory in both build and natural environments, driven by a curiosity for spatial storytelling and the transformative potential of design. She focuses on creating conceptually strong and sensorially engaging environments, often rooted in physical material exploration.

She holds academic qualifications from RWTH Aachen and University of Arts in Berlin. She has gained professional experience at Tanja Lincke Architekten, Bureau N, and Nick & Partner Architekten before she established herself as a freelance architect and set designer after graduation. Her work has been exhibited in Neue Nationalgalerie, culterim gallery and the nGbk. As a set designer and architect she is working both freelance and at Studio Alibi GmbH and has been designing and building spatial concepts for brands like Acronym, MSCHF, Alpha Industries, Mercedes Benz, SOREL, New Balance and adidas as well as for several commercial campaigns, music videos and events. She has designed and co-designed furniture pieces for ANTI Space and Forma Gallery.
