ANTI x HEALTHBAR
Stainless steel Matcha bar designed for ANTI x Healthbar

This monolithic stainless-steel bar was conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese matcha ceremony. Its design draws from the elemental geometry, material honesty, and spatial choreography found in tea culture, where every gesture is intentional and every object has a place.

In the tea ceremony, the ro (炉)—a sunken hearth used in the colder months—serves as a quiet center of warmth and gathering. Its seasonal counterpart, the furo, appears in summer as a portable brazier. These shifting rituals embody the principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility (Ichigo Ichie). The bar translates these ideas into architecture: solid, intersecting volumes form a sculptural landscape, inviting calm interaction and framing the preparation of matcha as a moment of focus.

Brushed stainless steel introduces both visual softness and material precision. Its subtle grain catches natural light throughout the day, allowing the surface to shift in tone and depth. The cubes anchor the space with a sense of permanence, while their minimal expression resonates with the raw concrete surroundings and the quiet presence of natural elements.

A functional yet meditative piece —an altar-like workstation that slows down the ritual of serving and receiving matcha, grounding it in contemporary spatial language.
